Workshop for UCI Academics in Education Research on May 24

You are invited to a workshop that has been designed to help faculty and instructors who are interested in improving their courses or applying for an education research grant but need help with tracking down background research. This workshop aims to help faculty and instructors build a solid context around their project and better understand the parameters of publishable education research projects in their discipline.

Workshop: Education Research in Context

11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., May 24 at EG 3161

All campus instructors, including graduate students and postdocs, who are interested in publishing education research projects are invited to attend, regardless of your discipline. Professors of Teaching and ERI mini-grant applicants will find the workshop to be particularly useful. Lunch will be included.

By the end of this 90 minute workshop, you will be able to:

• Describe how education research can be carried out within your disciplinary context
• List important keywords and journals relevant to your project
• Describe examples of research that has already been done in the area of your project, and better articulate how your project will add to general knowledge
